그 흐름 속에서 오알에스코리아는 지난 3월, 일본 도쿄에서 열린 ‘2025 일본 우수 퇴직 기술자 기술 지도 매칭 상담회’에 선정되어 참가하게 되었습니다.
이 행사는 일본의 정밀 제조업을 이끌어 온 경험과 기술을 겸비한 베테랑 엔지니어들과 전 세계 제조 기업들을 연결하는 자리로, 오알에스코리아 팀 역시 큰 기대와 설렘을 안고 현장을 찾았습니다.
The year 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan. Cooperation between the two countries has steadily expanded across politics, economy, and culture, as well as in the fields of industry and technology.
In line with this trend, ORSKOREA was honored to be selected to participate in the "2025 Japan Excellent Retired Engineers Technical Guidance Matching Fair," held in Tokyo this past March.
This event serves as a platform connecting veteran engineers—who possess both the experience and expertise that have led Japan’s precision manufacturing—with manufacturing companies from around the world. ORSKOREA team attended with great anticipation and excitement.

지난 3월 말, 저는 오알에스코리아를 대표해 도쿄에서 열린 ‘2025년 일본 우수퇴직 기술자 기술지도 매칭 상담회’에 다녀왔습니다. 공식적인 행사지만, 이번 상담회 방문 후기는 조금 더 개인적으로 풀어보려고 합니다.
새벽 일찍부터 인천공항에 가는 차를 타서, 아침에 뜨는 햇살을 받으며 인천공항에서 비행기를 타고, 햇살 좋은 도쿄 나리타 공항에 도착했을 때부터 묘한 설렘이 있었습니다. 공항에서 시내로 향하는 길 내내 창밖으로 흩날리는 벚꽃들이 이제 막 피고 있었어요.
At the end of March, I had the opportunity to represent ORSKOREA at the “2025 Japan Excellent Retired Engineers Technical Guidance Matching Fair” in Tokyo.
Although it was an official event, I’d like to share my experience from a more personal perspective.
I left for Incheon Airport early in the morning, bathed in the soft morning sunlight as I boarded my flight. The moment I arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport—also glowing under the gentle sun—I felt a quiet sense of excitement.
On the way from the airport to the city, cherry blossoms were just beginning to bloom, fluttering softly outside the car window.
일본 제조업의 본질과 마주하다
Discovering the Core of Japan’s Manufacturing
행사는 한국의 산업통상자원부와 한일 산업 기술협력재단에서 주관하고 있었고, 주요 참가자는 오랜 경력을 지닌 은퇴 엔지니어들이었습니다. 한 시대를 이끌었던 베테랑 기술자들이 새로운 세대와 다시 손을 맞잡기 위해 나온 자리였죠. 한국에서도 은퇴 기술자의 재취업에 대한 이야기가 있지만, 일본은 ‘기술 전수’에 훨씬 체계적인 시스템이 있다는 느낌을 받았습니다.
특히 일본은 아시아 에서도 정밀 기술로 전 세계적으로도 그 깊이와 철저함이 잘 알려져 있습니다. 이번 행사에서 만난 퇴직 기술자분들은 대부분 정밀 연삭, 정압 공기 베어링, 고속 스핀들 설계, 그리고 장비 구조 해석과 신뢰성 평가 등 각자의 전문 영역에서 수십 년간 노하우를 쌓아오신 분들이었습니다.
The event, hosted by Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea-Japan Industrial Technology Cooperation Foundation, featured retired engineers with decades of experience. It was a meaningful gathering where veteran engineers, who had once led an era, collaborated with the new generation. While Korea discusses re-employment for retired engineers, Japan has a much more structured approach to passing on technical expertise.
Japan is globally recognized—particularly across Asia—for its excellence in precision engineering and the depth and rigor of its technical expertise. Most of the retired engineers I met at the event had spent decades building their careers in highly specialized fields such as precision grinding, hydrostatic air bearings, high-speed spindle design, structural analysis of equipment, and reliability engineering.
짧은 상담 시간이었지만, 현장에서 나눈 기술적 대화는 매우 밀도 있고 진중했습니다. 단순한 “기술 이전”이 아닌, 설계 철학의 공유와 장기적인 기술 내재화를 위한 지도에 가까운 접근이 인상 깊었습니다.
저희 오알에스코리아는 정밀가공과 스핀들 분야에서 저희와 협력할 수 있는 기술자를 찾기 위해 참가했는데, 한 분 한 분 만나 뵐 때마다, 그 분들이 가진 경험과 지식의 깊이에 놀랐습니다. 단순히 기계 조작이나 설계 능력을 넘어서, “이런 상황에서는 이렇게 문제가 생기니까 미리 이렇게 설계하면 된다”는 식의 노하우가 녹아 있더라고요.
그 중에서도 저희와 잘 맞을 것 같은 분과는 기술 자문 형태의 협력을 염두에 두고 깊은 대화를 나눴습니다. 무엇보다 인상 깊었던 건, 그 분이 “나의 기술이 한국의 중소기업에 보탬이 될 수 있다면 더 없이 기쁠 것 같다”고 말씀하신 부분이었어요. 진심 어린 태도에서, 기술이란 결국 사람이 전하고 이어가는 것이란 걸 다시 느꼈습니다.
Although each consultation was brief, the technical discussions were incredibly focused and meaningful. What impressed me the most was the approach that went far beyond simple "technology transfer". It was more about sharing the engineering philosophy and the long-term internalization of technical expertise.
We attended the event in search of engineers who could collaborate with us in the fields of precision machining and spindle technology. Each person we met impressed us with the depth of their knowledge and experience. Their insights extended far beyond machine operation or design drafting—they possessed deeply embedded know-how, such as: “In situations like this, these kinds of problems tend to occur, so it’s better to design it this way from the start.”
We had a particularly meaningful conversation with an engineer who appeared to be an excellent fit for our needs. Together, we explored the potential for collaboration in the form of a technical advisory partnership. What resonated the most was his remark: “If my skills can contribute to a small or mid-sized Korean company, I would be truly delighted.” His sincerity was a powerful reminder that, at its heart, technology is something passed down—person to person.
단기 협력이 아닌, 구조적 체질 개선 Beyond Short-term Cooperation
오알에스코리아는 연삭기와 스핀들 전문 제조사로서, 단순한 장비 판매를 넘어 한국을 넘어 전 세계의 베어링과 자동차 부품 산업의 생산성 향상과 기술 표준화를 목표로 하고 있습니다. 특히 이번 매칭 상담회를 계기로, 단기적인 기술 적용보다도 설계자 교육과 설계 시스템 자체의 개선을 도와줄 수 있는 협력자를 찾고자 했습니다.
실제로, 저희는 현재 일본 기술자 한 분과 실질적인 기술 고문 계약을 논의 중이며, 한국 창원 본사에서 대면 미팅 이후 원격 협업 체계를 도입할 예정입니다.
돌아오는 길, 전철 안에서 창밖을 바라보며 생각했습니다. "우리도 이런 시스템을 한국에서 잘 정착시킬 수 있을까? 젊은 기술자들과 은퇴자들이 자연스럽게 연결되는 장이 더 많아지면 좋겠다." 그리고 오알에스코리아가 그런 연결을 만들어 가는 데에 작게나마 기여할 수 있으면 정말 의미 있을 것 같다는 생각도 들었습니다.
As a specialist in grinding machines and spindles, ORSKOREA aims to go beyond equipment sales. We are committed to improving productivity and advancing technical standards in the global bearing and automotive parts industries. At this event, our goal wasn’t just to seek short-term technical input. We aimed to find a partner who could support long-term growth through engineering workforce education and system-level improvements.
We are currently in talks with a Japanese engineer about a potential technical advisory agreement. Following an in-person meeting at our headquarters in Changwon, we plan to implement a remote collaboration system.
On the way back, as I looked out the window of the train, I wondered, "Can we successfully establish such a system in Korea? It would be wonderful if there were more opportunities for young engineers and retirees to connect." I also thought that it would be truly meaningful if ORSKOREA could contribute, even in a small way, to creating such connections.
이번 출장은 단순한 기술 교류 이상의 의미가 있었습니다. 일본의 기술을 존중하고, 또 배울 점은 배우며, 오알에스코리아만의 방식으로 더 좋은 기계를 더 나은 품질의 스핀들을, 더 좋은 협력 구조를 만들어가야겠다는 다짐을 안고 돌아왔습니다.
This trip was more than just a technical exchange. It was an opportunity to respect Japan’s technology, learn from it, and return with a renewed commitment to creating better machines, higher-quality spindles, and stronger collaboration structures in our own unique way at ORSKOREA.
