As ORSKOREA continues to expand our presence in Türkiye’s grinding machine and spindle market, we believe that true partnerships are built not only through business but through shared values, mutual respect, and cultural understanding.
ORSKOREA’s long-standing collaboration with ORS (ORTADOĞU RULMAN SANAYİ) has taught us that meaningful connections often begin far beyond the meeting room. That’s why we were honored to sponsor a cultural and commemorative visit by a Turkish youth delegation organized by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The “Türk-Kore Kardeşlik Rotası: İstanbul'un Mavisi, Kore'nin Kiraz Çiçekleriyle Buluşuyor” (Turkish-Korean Brotherhood Route: Istanbul’s Blue Meets Korea’s Cherry Blossoms) delegation included five university students, three government officials, and one especially meaningful guest: the granddaughter of a Turkish Korean War veteran. Their visit was more than just a tour; it was a heartfelt exchange across generations, cultures, and shared national history.

What made this trip truly unique was that supporting this visit was never on our agenda until a unique opportunity brought itself.
Our Turkish intern, Yasin Özdemir, who is currently studying in Korea, was contacted by the coordinators of the youth delegation project. They sought his insights as a fellow Turkish student on navigating Seoul, including tips on public transport and must-visit locations. During the conversation, the coordinator shared that the group had a strong desire to visit Busan, particularly to pay their respects at the UN Memorial Cemetery but had doubts whether the project’s budget would be enough to make the trip.
이번 방문이 특별했던 이유는, 처음부터 계획된 일이 아니었다는 점에 있습니다.
한국에서 유학 중인 당사의 튀르키예인 인턴 야신 오즈데미르(Yasin Özdemir)는 이번 청년 대표단의 관계자로부터 연락을 받았습니다. 관계자는 서울의 대중교통 이용법과 관광지에 대해 한국에서 살고 있는 튀르키예인 학생으로서의 조언을 구하고자 했습니다. 대화 중, 관계자는 부산에 있는 유엔기념공원을 방문하고 싶지만 예산 있을지에 대해 고민하고 있다고 털어놓았습니다.
Wanting to help, Yasin brought this to the attention of our Vice Managing Director, Sofia Oh, who immediately saw the significance of the request. Thanks to her empathy and decisive action, ORSKOREA stepped in to support the group’s visit to Busan, transforming this challenge into a meaningful cultural and historical experience. It was through her relentless efforts and wholehearted commitment that this special trip became a reality.

A Day of Connection and Commemoration

The day began early in Seoul, with the group setting off on a road trip to Changwon, the heart of ORSKOREA’s operations. After a scenic drive through Korea’s countryside and a warm welcome lunch, our guests arrived at our factory, where they were personally welcomed by our Managing Director, James Shim.
During the visit, he delivered a presentation that not only introduced our company’s vision and technological capabilities but also emphasized our deep and ever-growing relationship with Türkiye. He shared the story of how ORSKOREA was founded on collaboration and mutual trust, sharing how our roots in precision manufacturing have been enriched by international friendship and cooperation.

Honoring History at the UN Memorial Cemetery
유엔기념공원에서 역사를 추모
Following the factory visit, the delegation traveled to the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea, where soldiers from all UN member states including Türkiye are laid to rest. This solemn site offered a moving moment of reflection on the profound historical bond between our two nations.
The visit was made even more meaningful by its timing. The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, and this visit, held on June 4, carried special emotional significance as we approached the 75th anniversary of the Korean War’s outbreak. It served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that forged the deep-rooted “Blood Brotherhood” between Korea and Türkiye.
공장 방문 이후, 대표단은 부산에 있는 유엔기념공원을 방문하였습니다. 유엔기념공원은 튀르키예도 포함한 6.25 전쟁에 참전한 유엔 회원국들의 용사들이 안장된 곳입니다. 유엔기념공원은 양국 사이에 맺어진 깊은 역사적 유대를 되새길 수 있는 감동적인 추모와 성찰의 순간을 선사해 주었습니다.
이번 방문은 시기적으로도 더욱 뜻깊었습니다. 6.25 전쟁은 1950년 6월 25일에 발발했으며, 대표단이 방문한 6월 4일은 전쟁 발발 75주년을 앞둔 시점이었습니다. 이 방문은 한국과 튀르키예가 함께 흘린 피로 맺어진 "형제의 나라"를 다시금 떠올리는 시간이었습니다.
During the Korean War, 21.212 Turkish soldiers served as part of the United Nations Command, making Türkiye the fourth-largest troop contributor after the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Of those brave soldiers, 1.005 lost their lives, and 462 of them are now buried at the UN Cemetery in Busan. Türkiye also suffered the third-highest number of casualties, following only the U.S. and the U.K.
What is particularly remarkable is that Türkiye is the only nation represented in the cemetery with three separate memorials, while most countries have only one or some none at all. This is a testament not only to Türkiye’s military sacrifice during the Korean War but also to the enduring respect and remembrance that continues across generations. It reflects the deep emotional and historical ties that connect our two countries in a way that transcends borders.
Our team shared these stories with the delegation, honoring Türkiye’s courage and commitment during one of the most difficult periods in Korean history. It was an especially emotional moment for the granddaughter of the Korean War veteran and for all of us who had the honor of witnessing her tribute.
6.25 전쟁 당시 21.212명의 튀르키예군 유엔군으로 참전하였으며, 이는 미국, 영국, 캐나다에 이어 네 번째로 큰 규모였습니다. 이 중 1.005명이 전사, 그중 462명이 현재 유엔기념공원에 안장되어 있습니다. 튀르키예는 미국, 영국 다음으로 세 번째로 많은 전사자를 기록한 국가이기도 합니다.
특히 주목할 점은, 유엔기념공원 내에서 튀르키예는 유일하게 3개의 기념비를 보유한 국가라는 점입니다. 대부분의 국가는 한 개의 기념비만 갖고 있거나 아예 없는 경우도 있습니다. 이는 6.25 전쟁 당시 튀르키예의 군사적 희생뿐만 아니라, 세대를 넘어 지속되는 존경과 추모의 마음을 보여주는 증표이기도 합니다.
이는 국경을 넘어 한국과 튀르키예를 깊이 있게 이어주는 감정적∙역사적 유대를 잘 보여줍니다.

To close the day, the delegation visited Haedong Yonggungsa Temple which is one of Korea’s most iconic seaside temples, known for its dramatic oceanfront setting and peaceful atmosphere. As the sun began to set, our guests had the opportunity to experience the beauty and serenity of Korean culture and spirituality firsthand.
하루의 마지막 일정으로 대표단은 한국을 대표하는 해안 사찰 중 하나인 절벽 위에 펼쳐진 장엄한 바다 풍경과 고요한 분위기로 잘 알려져 있는 해동용궁사를 방문했습니다.해가 지기 시작할 무렵, 대표단은 한국 문화와 정신성의 아름다움과 평온함을 직접 체험할 수 있는 소중한 시간을 가졌습니다.
A Connection Rooted in “Inyeon” (인연)

In Korean culture, there is a meaningful concept called “인연” (Inyeon), a term deeply rooted in Buddhist philosophy. It refers to the mysterious, often spiritual threads of connection that bring people together across time and space. According to this belief, the relationships we form in this life are not mere coincidences but are shaped by actions and bonds from past lives. It’s a reminder that every encounter has a reason, even if we may not fully understand it at the time.
At ORSKOREA, our Vice Managing Director often speaks of “Inyeon” when reflecting on meaningful relationships whether with customers, colleagues, or guests. This visit by the Turkish youth delegation felt like exactly that: a connection destined to happen. What began as a simple exchange of information turned into an unforgettable journey of history and culture.
