From December 16 to 17, 2024, ORSKOREA, together with our trusted partner TIC Machine Company, visited Weihai Huadong Automation Co., Ltd. (HD CNC) in Weihai, China.
While the official goal of our trip was to explore technical cooperation and facility inspection, what we came back with was something deeper: genuine hospitality, shared vision, and the feeling that we had met people we truly wanted to work with.
2024년 12월 16일부터 17일까지, ORSKOREA는 TIC Machine Company와 함께 중국 Weihai의 HD CNC (Huadong Automation Co., Ltd.)를 방문했습니다. 정확히 말하면, 이번 출장의 목적은 기술 교류, 설비 확인, 협력 가능성 타진이었지만… 막상 다녀오고 나니 "기술"보다 사람, 이야기, 그리고 신뢰가 더 기억에 남았습니다.
Who is HD CNC?
HD CNC는 어떤 회사인가?
HD CNC, founded in 1969, is one of China’s most seasoned grinding machine manufacturers. With over 50 years of experience, they specialize in cylindrical, surface, vertical, horizontal grinding machines. Their strength lies in high-volume, practical industrial grinding systems—particularly for medium-to-large-scale applications.
HD CNC는 1969년 설립되어 50년 이상 연삭기 분야에 집중해 온 중국의 대표적인 연삭기 전문 제조사입니다. CYLINDRICAL, SURFACE, VERTICAL, HORIZONTAL 등 다양한 형식의 연삭기를 생산하며, 중형 및 대형 가공기에 강점을 보이고 있습니다. 설계부터 조립, 테스트까지 대부분 자체 공정으로 운영되며, 공장 내 기계적 완성도도 상당히 안정적이었습니다.

During our visit, we observed a wide range of production lines and learned that most machines were non-B-axis cylindrical grinders, aimed at stable performance and mass-market reliability. From a technical standpoint, they’re not focused on ultra-high precision, but their efficiency, scale, and manufacturing discipline are deeply impressive.
현장에서 확인한 바로는 B축이 없는 표준형 원통연삭기를 주로 생산하고 있었으며, 고정도 연삭보다는 일반 산업용 연삭기 대량 생산에 초점이 맞춰져 있다는 인상을 받았습니다. 하지만 일부 파트는 고속 스핀들 옵션도 구성되어 있었고, 생산성과 단가 측면에서는 충분한 경쟁력이 있다는 판단이 들었습니다.

그런데, 이 회사… 기계만 잘 만드는 게 아니었습니다.
As our formal discussions wrapped up, one of the HD CNC representatives smiled and asked: “Do you enjoy beer? Have you ever traveled the world through it?” Moments later, bottles of Russian lager, German pilsner, Japanese sake, and even their own homemade craft beer were laid out before us.
방문 일정이 끝날 즈음, HD CNC의 사장님께서 우리에게 웃으면서 이렇게 말했습니다. “맥주 좋아하세요? 세계여행 해보셨나요?” 갑자기 테이블 위에 올라온 건… 러시아 맥주, 독일 맥주, 일본 사케, 그리고 직접 만든 수제 맥주와 고량주(!)

What followed was more than a toast—it was a cultural exchange filled with laughter, open conversation, and red-cheeked smiles. We didn’t just talk about machines—we talked about people, food, stories, and values. At that moment, we realized: This isn’t just a company. These are people we want to work with.
HD CNC 분들은 그 술이 어디서 온 것인지, 어떤 맛의 차이가 있는지를 이야기해 주시고, 술에 얽힌 문화 이야기까지 함께 나눠주셨습니다. 모두들 얼굴이 빨개질 만큼 웃고, 이야기하고, 인간적으로 가까워질 수 있었던 순간이었습니다.
저희는 기계 이야기보다 이 자리가 더 오래 기억날 것 같습니다. 그리고 동시에, 이런 문화를 가진 회사라면 앞으로 무엇이든 함께 해보고 싶다는 마음이 들었습니다.

HD CNC is a company with solid experience in assembling large-scale grinding machines, stable production line management, and strong export capabilities.
We were particularly impressed by the structured layout of the factory, their well-organized parts inventory system, and the seamless production flow. It was clear that they are well equipped to handle high-mix, high-volume manufacturing with confidence.
HD CNC는 대형 연삭기 조립 경험, 안정된 라인 운영, 그리고 수출 대응 역량까지 모두 갖춘 회사였습니다. 특히 공장 구성의 체계성과 부품 보관 관리, 생산 흐름 등이 잘 정돈되어 있었고, 다품종 대량 생산 대응도 잘 되고 있다는 느낌을 받았습니다.
Joint Exploration with TIC
함께 방문한 TIC와의 공동 탐색
This visit was not made alone—it was a joint trip with TIC, a Korean Company, our trusted Korean partner. Together, we explored the potential for Korea–China collaboration, particularly in the standardization and modularization of cylindrical grinding systems.
이번 방문은 단독이 아닌, TIC 와의 공동 출장이었습니다. Korea – China – 공동 협업 가능성을 타진하고, 원통연삭기 시스템의 표준화/모듈화를 위한 기초 논의를 함께 진행했습니다.
If ORSKOREA can integrate our precision engineering expertise, high-speed spindle solutions, and customization know-how with the collaborative foundation between TIC and HD CNC, we believe we can extend our reach not only in East Asia, but also into emerging markets like Brazil and Mexico.
TIC와 HD CNC의 협력 기반 위에 오알에스코리아가 가진 정밀 기술력, 고속 스핀들 솔루션, 커스터마이징 노하우를 접목할 수 있다면, 향후 동아시아 시장뿐 아니라 남미 시장(Brazil, Mexico 등) 진출도 충분히 도모할 수 있으리라 생각합니다.

HD CNC is not just another machine builder in China. While their focus leans toward practicality and mass production over ultra-fine precision, what stood out most was their human-centered, warm organizational culture. This experience confirmed something important for us: With companies like HD CNC, we’re not just building machines or sourcing components—we're building relationships we truly want to continue.
HD CNC는 그냥 ‘중국의 기계 회사’가 아니었습니다. 정밀함보다는 실용성과 양산 중심, 그리고 사람 중심의 온기 있는 조직.
우리는 이들과 함께하면 단순한 부품이나 기계 생산을 넘어, "함께 일하고 싶은 마음이 드는 관계"를 만들 수 있다는 가능성을 확인했습니다.
