Hydrostatic and hydrodynamic spindles are high-precision spindle systems that use fluid lubrication to support the rotating shaft through a non-contact or near non-contact bearing structure. Hydrostatic spindles form a stable oil film between the spindle shaft and bearing surfaces using externally supplied pressurized oil, providing high stiffness and precision. In contrast, hydrodynamic spindles generate a lubrication film through the fluid pressure created by spindle rotation, enabling stable operation in high-speed environments.
